TJAF grant funds helped Seawell Elementary School purchase community garden supplies. The Chapel Hill school’s PTA used grant money to buy materials for a 3-bin composting system, durable vegetable bed trellises, and a greenhouse. Parent volunteers did much of the construction and installation and the after-school garden club, the Garden Guardians, will maintain the garden and infrastructure. Bolstered by grant funding, the school is testing a school-wide compost collection program. Seawell Elementary PTA was a 2024 grant recipient.
