Project Description

A TJAF grant supported the Children’s Nature Trail at Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve in Cary; the trail includes educational yet whimsical stepping stones, ceramic birds, and a child-sized telescope, as well as interpretive signs. A few years later, another grant enabled needed updates to the Our Environment exhibit wall in the Stevens Nature Center. TJAF funded the installation of the Urban Wildlife in Action panel, which includes natural history information, wildlife camera video clips, hands-on animal track replicas, and an interactive touchscreen and selfie station. Friends of Hemlock Bluffs was a 2014 and 2017 grant recipient.
