2016 Grants Awarded to North Carolina NonProfits
Raleigh, NC – January 23, 2017 – Five North Carolina-based nonprofits will see their capital projects come to life in 2017 thanks to The Jandy Ammons Foundation, Inc. The local family foundation is giving $212,011 to help fund capital projects in the areas of art, wildlife conservation, education and mission. In the Foundation’s four years of existence, its given grant awards totaling $765,731.
“Charitable organizations generate valuable opportunities for local communities,” says Jan Ammons, The Jandy Ammons Foundation co-founder and President. “Our goal is to seek out those with a strong volunteer base who are planning unique projects to bolster the health and wellness of their community. They simply need the capital to propel them forward, and that’s where we can contribute.” Jan, an avid community supporter and volunteer, has given her time to the public school system, parks and trails in her municipality, and church missions. She and her husband, Andy Ammons, have witnessed the power of inventive solutions that blend learning with the arts, the environment and the mission field – it was the guiding factor for the creation of The Jandy Ammons Foundation.
The 2016 grant recipients and their planned projects are:
ChurchNet Foundation of Wake Forest is in need of computer equipment and related software to more efficiently serve and minister;
Raleigh Little Theatre of Raleigh is using their grant to help with renovations at the community theatre known for its quality live theatre and dynamic classes for performers of all ages;

“Through the Foundation, we are able to support community-minded projects that need capital support to get out of the planning phase and into implementation,” says Andy. “We are excited about the momentum that these nonprofits bring to the table.”
“Our goal is to find projects that provide positive life experiences in an array of ways,” says Gina Teague, the Foundation’s executive director, “This is our way of reaching as many people as possible.”
