The Jandy Ammons Foundation Awards $232,000

2015 Grants Awarded to North Carolina NonProfits

Raleigh, NC – January 13, 2016 – Eight North Carolina-based nonprofits will see their capital projects come to life in 2016 thanks to The Jandy Ammons Foundation, Inc. The local family foundation is giving $232,000 to help fund capital projects in the areas of art, wildlife conservation, education and mission.  In the Foundation’s three years of existence, Grant awards have been given out totaling $553,720.

“Charitable organizations generate valuable opportunities for local communities,” says Jan Ammons, The Jandy Ammons Foundation co-founder and President. “Our goal is to seek out those with a strong volunteer base who are planning unique projects to bolster the health and wellness of their community. They simply need the capital to propel them forward, and that’s where we can contribute.” Jan, an avid community supporter and volunteer, has given her time to the public school system, parks and trails in her municipality, and church missions. She and her husband, Andy Ammons, have witnessed the power of inventive solutions that blend learning with the arts, the environment and the mission field – it was the guiding factor for the creation of The Jandy Ammons Foundation.

The 2015 grant recipients and their planned projects are:

“Through the Foundation, we are able to support community-minded projects that need capital support to get out of the planning phase and into implementation,” says Andy. “We are excited about the momentum that these nonprofits bring to the table.”

“Our goal is to find projects across the state that provide positive life experiences in an array of ways,” says Gina Teague, the Foundation’s Executive Director, “This is our way of reaching as many people as possible.”

Letters of Inquiry for 2016 projects are being accepted through May 2, 2016. For more information on the grant proposal process, please visit: www.TheJandyAmmonsFoundation.org

About The Jandy Ammons Foundation

Founded in November 2012, The Jandy Ammons Foundation is a 501(c)(3) grant-making foundation formed by Heritage developer Andy Ammons and his family. It is a true family foundation; Jan Ammons, Andy Ammons and their daughter Jessie Sloan Ammons make up the Board of Directors, and the Ammons’ two sons, Drew and Max, currently serve on committees within.  Gina Teague serves as Executive Director.
